Meet Our Teachers

MARY GELOW (Co-Owner)

Tap, Theatre Jazz, Hip Hop and Production Choreographer

Ms. Gelow is a graduate of St. John’s University in New York City and holds a B.S. in Communications. Ms. Gelow’s performances and television credits: Judge Judy commercial for UPN cable television, Orlando Magic Basketball, Madison Square Garden, New York Mets, World Powerlifting Organization, ESPN and Kid N’ Play with Warner Brothers Productions. Ms. Gelow was a performer and choreographer for the After Shock Hip Hop team in Orlando, as well as for the St. John’s University Dance Team in Queens, New York. Her 28 years of training includes studying under tap dancing greats: Savion and Abron Glover and the Conceiver of the Tony Award-winning musical “FOSSE”, Chet Walker.

TOSHA WILLIAMS (Co-Owner)

Vocal Technique, Acting and Musical Theatre Director

Ms. Williams is the former Choral Director at Mainland High School and Silver Sands Middle School where her Concert Choirs, Show Choirs and vocal soloists have consistently earned Superior ratings at District MPA as well as the musical theatre ensembles receiving Superior ratings and Critic’s Choice Awards at both District and State level Thespian Festivals. Ms. Williams is an alumnus of the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre program. Ms. Williams was New York’s Junior Miss in 1981 and appeared in the nationally televised America’s Junior Miss Program. Ms. Williams earned a B.S of Education for Math and Musical Performance from Troy State University in Troy, AL.

MADELINE MOON TYSER

Modern and Pointe

Madeline Moon Tyser started dancing at the age of 5 in the Daytona area. She was a part of the Papillon Dance Ensemble and in the IB Program at Spruce Creek. She went on to get her Bachelors in Fine Arts from the University of South Florida, with a concentration in performance and choreography. Here she was able to perform and train extensively in different styles of modern technique, ballet technique, kinesiology, and choreography. Upon graduating she had the opportunity to perform and study different dance techniques in Paris, France through the USF Dance in Paris Program.

Upon returning to the US she began dancing with The Tallahassee Ballet under the direction of Rick McCullough. After a season in Tallahassee, she joined Nashville Ballet’s 2nd company, where she was able to train and perform with the main company as well as discover her passion for arts education and outreach. Also while in Nashville she had the pleasure of dancing with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival in their performance of Macbeth as one of the 3 witches, and also featured as a dancer in Justin Nault’s music video “Puppet”. After 2 years in Nashville, she moved to Columbia, SC to dance with Columbia Classical Ballet for a season and Columbia City Ballet for 3 seasons. While with Columbia City Ballet she toured extensively throughout the southeast.

Madeline is very excited to be back home now teaching and sharing her experiences with the next generation of dancers.

 

BRIANNE LEVEILLE

Lyrical and Ballet

Ms.Brianne (Ms. Breezy) was born and raised in Port Orange, FL. She started dance at the age of 5. Brianne studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, and Hip Hop. She started competitive dance at age 9 and won awards that took her to NY and Las Vegas to study and perform with dancers from all around the United States. Along with being apart of the Academy of Fine Arts competition team, Brianne took many master classes that were offered in Florida. As she got older, she started teaching baby ballet classes and private lessons for Tap and Lyrical. Although she was well-rounded and studied all the forms of dance, her forte was Lyrical and Tap. Brianne was apart of the Atlantic High School dance team, Nautica. Brianne married her high school sweetheart and they now have 3 children. Brianne’s youngest is taking Ballet and Tap and she hopes her daughter will follow in her footsteps.

 

MCKENZIE FRENCH

Contemporary and Tumbling

Miss McKenzie began dancing at the age of 8 at a competitive studio in Dayton, Ohio. McKenzie spent many hours a week in the studio learning ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, and more. Although she loves all forms of dance, contemporary and lyrical has always been her favorite. She spent most of her time in the studio or traveling around Ohio and beyond for competitions and workshops. She spent each summer in the studio taking master classes and intensives with professionals from around the world. At the age of 17, she began teaching her own dance classes in the midst of taking her own. After her high school graduation, McKenzie moved to Port Orange and expanded her experience in a gymnastics setting where she learned about tumbling and conditioning. She then found her home for dance here in Florida at Orbit Performing Arts. McKenzie now has a baby girl, Ivory, who she hopes will have a passion for dance too one day!

 

ALLIE COAKLEY

PreDance - Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and Tumbling

Miss Allie is currently attending Daytona State College to complete a Business Administration Degree and excited to be teaching at Orbit. She has had extensive training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Latin and Irish Dance for the past 13 years. She was also a competitive dancer in various genres.
